Regenerative Medicine

Honoring it’s mission to support endeavors that benefit all mankind, the Order of the Eastern Star has chosen Regenerative Medicine, through the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as one of it’s identifying charities.

 

Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine is an international leader in translating scientific discovery into clinical therapies.  The team has been able to engineer forty different replacement tissues and organs, with a goal to cure rather than just to treat, disease; and to speed up the availability of these treatments to patients.

 

The North Carolina Order of the Eastern Star is supporting the efforts of WFIRM through education, volunteer work, and donations.

Just imagine a future where diseases are cured, not treated, where cells from your own body will be used to reproduce blood vessels, skin, or even organs.
